Baptist Health Community Outreach is offering several opportunities for free back-to-school shots. COVID-19 vaccines will also be available for children ages 12 and older. Immunizations will be administered at the following locations:

Adam Wolfe, MD, PhD, a radiation oncologist at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences Winthrop P. Rockefeller Cancer Institute has received a $583,200 grant from the American Cancer Society (ACS) to study radiation resistance in pancreatic cancer, a lethal disease with the highest mortality rate of all cancers.

The four-year ACS Clinician Science Development Grant will fund Wolfe’s study of KRAS, a mutated gene that is present.

Amber Crawford had lost hope that she’d ever find a treatment for depression that worked for her. 

Diagnosed at age 22, Crawford said her depression has impacted many aspects of her life, including her relationship with family members. The mother of twins (and grandmother of one) said when she first came to Vijay Dalai, MD, psychiatrist at Mercy Clinic Behavioral Health – Fort Smith, she was “at the bottom of a very black hole.”

Washington Regional earned the Get With The Guidelines® Stroke Gold Plus, Honor Roll Elite Plus, Advanced Therapy and Target: Type 2 Diabetes Honor Roll awards, which recognize the hospital’s commitment to ensuring patients experiencing stroke receive the most appropriate treatment according to nationally recognized, research-based guidelines based on the latest scientific evidence.

CHI St. Vincent Hot Springs has been named one of the 2023 Best Places to Work in Arkansas in Arkansas Business and Best Companies Group’s 11th annual survey and awards program. This recognition marks CHI St. Vincent Hot Springs’ fifth year to receive the honor.
