New York Institute of Technology College of Osteopathic Medicine’s Arkansas campus generated an estimated $44.6 million in economic impact during the 2022-23 fiscal year, according to a recent study conducted by Parker Strategy Group.

The project was completed on behalf of Arkansas State University and included an overview of the impact made by NYITCOM, which opened a location on A-State’s Jonesboro campus in 2016 through a private-public partnership between A-State and New York Institute of Technology.

The Arkansas Department of Health (ADH) will hold a measles, mumps, and rubella (MMR) vaccine clinic at the Don Owen Sports Complex at 10 Lower Ridge Rd. in Conway on May 13 from 1 to 7 p.m. The vaccine will be provided at no cost, but people should bring their insurance card if they have one.

There are currently six cases of measles that have been identified this year. Community spread has been identified in Faulkner County. Measles exposure locations and case counts are updated at www.healthy.arkansas.gov.

The National Safe Sleep Hospital Certification Program recently recognized Arkansas Children's Hospital (ACH) as a Gold Level Safe Sleep Hospital for its commitment to best practices and education on infant safe sleep.

The National Safe Sleep Hospital Certification Program was created by Cribs for Kids®, a national infant safe sleep organization. ACH is recognized for following the safe sleep guidelines recommended by the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP), providing training programs for healthcare team members and providing safe sleep education to family and caregivers.
