Several Baptist Health Medical Centers were recently honored for their continued efforts in educating both staff and community members about the importance of organ, eye, and tissue donation. The honors were presented by the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) through its DoNation campaign.

Arkansas Children's Hospital (ACH) Auxiliary hosted a sold-out la Carte on April 4, featuring 24 dining establishments across central Arkansas. The tasting event raised more than $143,000 in net proceeds which will provide critical funds needed to support the expansion project at ACH.

Northwest Health welcomes board-certified internist Philip Pitts, MD, to the medical staff, practicing at Northwest Medical Plaza – Pinnacle.
“As a physician, my practice philosophy is to provide excellent diagnostic services to alleviate the stresses of the unknown by giving clear, actionable, and correct advice,” he said.
He earned a medical education at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio and then completed an internal medicine residency at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in Little Rock, Ark.

Baptist Health Community Outreach invites able-bodied seniors to join “Eat Smart, Live Strong,” a new four-week wellness program.
This free program, which starts May 1, focuses on eating more fruits and vegetables and getting more physical activity to help delay and prevent the effects of diet-related disease. Through group discussion and facilitated activities, participants will decide on and plan for lifestyle changes they wish to make.
Sessions will be Wednesdays through from noon to 1:30 p.m. at Baptist Health Community Outreach, 10117 Kanis Road in Little Rock.
