AFMC has received its 2020 Healthcare Effectiveness Data and Information Set (HEDIS®) certification for health plan reporting. HEDIS is a comprehensive set of standardized performance measures widely used to measure and improve healthcare quality. HEDIS measures are relied on by government regulators, health plan payers, provider organizations, employers, and consumers to provide information, identify quality, and help compare health plan performance and make reliable comparisons between managed care plans.
The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) will expand partnerships with local school districts to implement a school nutrition enrichment program in Northwest Arkansas to provide healthier food choices for students. The program expansion is supported by a $1.28 million grant from the Alice L. Walton Foundation.

A cell phone app designed to treat depression showed a dramatic reduction in symptoms compared to those who relied on other methods or received no treatment at all, according to a recent University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) study.
The results of the study were published earlier this month in the American Medical Association’s JAMA Psychiatry journal.
