A University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) researcher has been awarded a grant worth $3.3 million from the National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA) to study the effectiveness of two therapeutic options in treating post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) in prison populations.
Baptist Health Gastroenterology Clinic in Little Rock is now offering a new comprehensive evaluation to determine the root cause of gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) in patients as well as a new treatment option for people with GERD.
For evaluation, three different tools are available to:
-Assess motor function or peristalsis of the esophagus. (Using a test called esophageal manometry)
-Determine if acid reflux is causing the symptoms. (Using a device-based pH reflux testing system called Bravo)
The Russellville Pediatric and Adolescent Clinic opened a milk depot in support of the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) Milk Bank.
The University of Central Arkansas will host the Student Led Therapeutic Activity Program (s-TAP) Art Show on Dec. 4 from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at McCastlain Ballroom on the UCA campus.
