The Arkansas Department of Health has released a finalized vaccine plan. The plan is a phased approach to vaccine distribution and defines priority groups in each phase. It also sets approximate time periods for when each phase is anticipated to begin.
Phase 1B is tiered and includes Arkansans 70 and older, teachers and education staff, food and agricultural workers, police, firefighters, and correctional staff as well as manufacturing workers, grocery store workers, public transit workers, U.S. Postal workers, and essential government workers. Initial prioritization will be given to those who are 70 and older, teachers, and educational staff.
Vaccine doses currently received each week are limited and are not expected to increase for the next few weeks. As of now, vaccines will be administered in designated community pharmacies and special vaccination events across the state. When weekly vaccination doses increase, then the number of locations where vaccine is available will increase.
ADH has more COVID-19 information on its website, including a map of pharmacy locations, an FAQ document, and the final plan. View these and more information at healthy.arkansas.gov.
