Arkansas Surgical Hospital Receives Five-Star Rating from CMS

Arkansas Surgical Hospital has earned two five-star ratings from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS).

The facility was recognized with a five-star rating by both CMS’s Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (HCAHPS) and the Overall Hospital Quality Star Rating.

“For 15 years, Arkansas Surgical Hospital has made it our goal to provide exceptional care to our patients and their families,” said Brian Fowler, CEO of Arkansas Surgical Hospital.  “It is an honor for the staff at our hospital to be nationally recognized for its hard work.”

CMS developed the two rating systems to help consumers decide where to receive quality, first-class care.  The HCAHPS rating is based on results from patient experience surveys sent to recently discharged patients.  The Overall Hospital Quality Star Rating combines patient survey data with clinical outcomes.  It measures how well the hospital performs in different areas of quality, such as readmission rates and safety and of care.
