Baptist Health Urgent Care Now Open in Benton

Baptist Health continues to expand access to healthcare by opening its fourth urgent care center in Benton at 824 Military Rd., next to Arby’s.

The urgent care center treats pain and conditions that are non-life threatening. With no appointment needed, patients are seen on a walk-in basis for a variety of medical needs, including asthma and allergies; flu, colds, and viral illnesses; bites, stings, and allergic reactions; sprains, strains, and broken bones; diarrhea, nausea, and vomiting; urinary tract infections; ear and eye injuries; skin conditions; burns; school, sports, and wellness physicals; immunizations and vaccinations; and occupational health services.

Baptist Health Urgent Care-Benton is open seven days a week, Monday through Friday, from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.; on Saturday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.; and Sunday from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. Most insurance plans, including TRICARE, Medicare, and Medicaid, as well as cash and credit card are accepted.

Tamara Tate, APRN (advanced practice registered nurse), will lead the team, along with a licensed practical nurse and an X-ray technologist. Anna Wilkerson, APRN, will join the team in mid-December.

Baptist Health, in a joint venture with Urgent Team, one of the Southeast’s largest independent operators of urgent and family care centers, currently has urgent care centers in North Little Rock, Bryant, and Jacksonville.

“We’re very excited to expand urgent care services to the residents in Benton,” said Troy Wells, president and CEO of Baptist Health. “Providing convenient access and affordable care for urgent, but non-emergency needs is a strategic focus we’re intent on providing throughout Arkansas.”

“We’re privileged to partner with such a highly-respected healthcare organization,” said Mike Dupuis, Urgent Team Division Vice President. “Our goal is to meet the growing patient needs for quality care delivered in a convenient location at an affordable price."

Baptist Health’s expansion into urgent care provides unscheduled access to care for patients, as well as supports Baptist Health physicians who want to provide an after-hours option to their patients. While an individual’s primary care provider should be the main choice since the physicians knows the patient’s entire medical history, sometimes immediate care is needed.
