Free Tickets Available for TEDxUAMS Feb. 7

The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) will be hosting TEDxUAMS from 9 a.m.-6 p.m. on Feb. 7 at the UAMS Jackson T. Stephens Spine & Neurosciences Institute at 501 Jack Stephens Drive.

Following the spirit of TED (Technology, Entertainment and Design), TEDxUAMS aims to present multiple issues and a diversity of voices from many disciplines.

Free tickets are available on a first-come, first-served basis by emailing OrganizationalDevelopment@uams.edu. Attendees are asked to commit to spending the entire day at the talks. Lunch will be provided, and a reception will follow the event.

TEDxUAMS is a group of short, carefully prepared talks, demonstrations, and performances that are idea-focused and cover a wide range of subjects to foster learning, inspiration, wonder, and provoke conversations that matter.

UAMS has selected 10 presenters to speak on a variety of topics. They are:

-Joe Thompson, MD, MPH -- Live Well, Die Fast

-Wendy Ward, PhD -- The Future of Healthcare is Teams — Why Patients Should Care
