The UAMS Health Epilepsy and Neurology Clinic has opened in Freeway Medical Tower, offering comprehensive care from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) for epilepsy and multiple sclerosis in a convenient Midtown location.
The clinic is located in Suite 605 of the Freeway Medical Tower, 5800 W. 10th St., just off Interstate 630.
The multidisciplinary epilepsy team includes three fellowship-trained epilepsy physicians, a functional neurosurgeon, a specially trained advanced practice registered nurse (APRN) and registered nurses (RNs). Any needed surgical procedures are performed at the nearby main UAMS campus, which houses the only adult level 4 Epilepsy Center in the state, the highest accreditation available from the National Association of Epilepsy Centers and recognition that UAMS can provide all types of epilepsy evaluation, care, monitoring, and surgery.
The clinic also houses a neuro-immunology team that includes an APRN, RN, pharmacists, and a fellowship-trained neuro-immunologist who treats multiple sclerosis and other diseases that affect both the neurologic and immune systems. This clinic compliments the Neurology Clinic on the main UAMS campus and provides more access to this important specialized care. UAMS is recognized as a Partner in MS Care by the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, signifying its comprehensive approach to diagnosing, managing, and treating MS.
