The CHI St. Vincent Heart Institute is offering their new HeartSmart Screening Program. The new preventative screening program combines a series of tests to identify cardiovascular health risks into a single visit that patients can schedule at their own convenience to gain greater insight into their true heart health and detect any early signs of heart disease.
The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) Dental Hygiene Clinic’s Fall for Smiles event will offer free dental cleanings for children, ages three to 17, from 8 a.m. – 3 p.m. on Oct. 23. The clinic is located at the Freeway Medical Tower, 5800 W. 10th St., Suite 501.
Services include dental cleanings, dental examinations, X-rays, and fluoride treatments. Appointments are required. The clinic cannot accept walk-in patients. To schedule an appointment, call Alejandro Hernandez at (870) 784-7224.
Highlands Oncology, Northwest Arkansas’ leading cancer treatment center, and Baxter Regional Medical Center announce a new cancer treatment facility to be located in Mountain Home. This new state-of-the-art facility will be a joint venture between the two entities to better serve patients in Baxter, Marion, and surrounding counties.
More than $1 million was raised for Arkansas Children’s by 157 Walmart and Sam’s Club locations, including Walmart’s corporate headquarters, during the nationwide Walmart and Sam’s Club campaign.
These participating stores were the number one fundraising group out of all Walmart and Sam’s Club locations in the country.
The campaign ran from June 28-July 25 and benefits Arkansas Children’s Hospital and Arkansas Children’s Northwest, the state’s local Children’s Miracle Network (CMN) Hospitals.
The Washington Regional J.B. Hunt Transport Services Cancer Support Home will offer free clinical breast exams during a breast health clinic on Oct. 16 from 9 a.m. – 12 p.m. at the J.B. Hunt Transport Services Cancer Support Home, located at 488 E. Longview St. in Fayetteville. The clinical breast examinations are offered at no cost to the public and are performed by physicians and/or registered nurse practitioners.
