Arkansas Cardiology and Baptist Health Heart Institute in Little Rock recently opened a cardio-oncology clinic.

Under the leadership of Ramey Marshell, MD, and Stephen Greer, MD, FACC, this clinic focuses on preventing and managing cardiovascular complications among cancer survivors and patients battling the disease. Marshell and Greer created this clinic to form a collaborative relationship made up of a multidisciplinary team of cardiac and cancer specialists such as oncologists, hematologists, radiation oncologists, surgical oncologists, and oncology pharmacists.

CHI St. Vincent Hot Springs nurse Madison Sorrell, RN was recently recognized by the DAISY Foundation for the “extraordinary, compassionate care” she provides to her patients. Sorrell was presented with the high profile DAISY Award in March following a nomination from a patient’s family based on their care.

CHI St. Vincent Hot Springs received an A grade in the spring 2021 Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grades, a national distinction recognizing the Southwest Arkansas hospital’s achievements protecting patients from errors, injuries, accidents, and infections. The Leapfrog Group is an independent national watchdog organization that assigns grades to all general hospitals across the country and updates those grades every six months.

CHI St. Vincent Hot Springs welcomes Scott Jones as director of the Inpatient Senior Behavioral Health Unit. The unit opened in mid-2020 to provide compassionate care for the Southwest Arkansas community’s aging population. Jones brings extensive experience to the program in the field of inpatient psychiatry as a therapist, clinical coordinator, and program director in Arkansas, Mississippi, Oklahoma, Tennessee, and Texas.
