Charity Clay Shooting Tournament to Bene...

The 14th annual Arkansas Charity Clays tournament, presented by CompleteCare, is set for Oct. 24 at the Arkansas Game & Fish Foundation Shooting Sports Complex, 2800 Graham Road, in Jacksonville. Proceeds raised from this year’s event will support Baptist Health College Little Rock. All proceeds will go toward facility expansion and improvements to increase student enrollment and enrich learning in all programs. 

Chad Golden with Trane Commercial and Alan Hope with Powers of Arkansas are this year’s event co-chairs.

ADH Coordinates Free Breast and Cervical...

The Arkansas Department of Health (ADH) BreastCare program coordinates efforts with a statewide network of providers to offer free breast and cervical cancer screenings and follow-up services.

Breast cancer is the most common cancer among women in Arkansas and the second leading cause of cancer-related deaths for women both in Arkansas and across the United States. The state currently ranks 35th lowest for mammography and 43rd lowest for pap tests.

Baptist Health Community Outreach Offers...

Baptist Health Community Outreach holds a variety of monthly classes to help central Arkansas residents make meals at home that won’t break the bank or health goals.

The Cooking with Community Outreach classes are taught by Baptist Health registered dietitian Samantha Stadter and are designed to empower participants to gain confidence in the kitchen with simple yet flavorful recipes. During each class, students will prepare, cook, and taste different dishes using a variety of ingredients. Topics include nutrition benefits, ingredient selection, money-saving tips and more.

UAMS Hosts Oct. 16 Spinal Neurosurgery L...

The public is invited to attend the Flanigan-Boop Endowed Lectureship in Spinal Neurosurgery at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) at 5 p.m. on Oct. 16.

Andrew Jea, MD, MBA, a professor and chair of neurosurgery at the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine, will present a lecture on advances in neurosurgery on the 12th floor of the Jackson T. Stephens Spine & Neurosciences Institute on the Little Rock campus.

The title of the lecture is “Veritate Duce Progredi: Neuromuscular Scoliosis.”
