Baptist Health Center for Clinical Research is conducting a late-stage, Phase 3 study on a potential COVID-19 vaccine, and is recruiting volunteers to participate.

Baptist Health Center for Clinical Research’s involvement is part of its Arkansas COVID Vaccine Initiative. Baptist Health is the only site in the state offering this study, which seeks to evaluate the safety and effectiveness of this vaccine candidate.

Robert Grand, MD, recently joined Washington Regional Ozark Urology Clinic where he works alongside John Brizzolara, MD, Mark Jackson, MD, Lindsay Horton, APRN, and Tasha Kerr, APRN.

Grand received his medical degree at Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center and completed a urology residency at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center.

The Maternal Safety Foundation has recognized Willow Creek Women’s Hospital (WCWH) as a VBAC Center of Excellence. VBAC is an acronym for Vaginal Birth After Cesarean.

Willow Creek is the first hospital in the nation to earn this recognition for its commitment to providing safe, VBAC-supportive care.

A national database for patient cancer images at UAMS has become the official storage site for all of the United States’ COVID-19 clinical images, including chest x-rays and CT scans of the body.

UAMS also became the first research institution to contribute de-identified images of COVID-19 to the storage site, called The Cancer Imaging Archive. The archive is funded by the National Cancer Institute (NCI) at the National Institutes of Health (NIH).
