UAPB alumna Amanda Winston just took the Medical College Admission Test (MCAT) this summer, taking a definitive step toward a career goal she has had in mind since she was a kid in Pine Bluff--becoming a doctor.
“As far back as I can remember, I’ve had an interest in medicine,” said Winston, who just graduated with a Master of Public Health from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS).

Jesse D. Abeler, DO, has joined the team of orthopedic surgeons at Bowen Hefley Orthopedics.
Abeler completed and received a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from Rocky Vista University College in Parker, Colo. He completed an orthopedic residency at St. Anthony’s Hospital in Oklahoma City and then went on to complete a hand fellowship at the University of Massachusetts.
