COVID-19 and the constant changes surrounding it is taking a mental and emotional on the state’s citizens. To combat this and bring some joy to Arkansans, Methodist Family Health is asking pet lovers to share pictures and video of their pets, which the nonprofit will share to its social media platforms and publications.
Funding is now available to help licensed child care centers cover costs associated with the COVID-19 outbreak and to cover child care costs for some essential workers in Arkansas, a group of State Legislators and the Arkansas Department of Human Services (DHS) announced.
Degrees and certificates were conferred to 914 graduates of the University of Arkansas Medical Sciences’ (UAMS) five colleges and graduate school. Because of the COVID-19 pandemic, no commencement ceremony was held.
Degrees were awarded to 165 in the College of Medicine, 255 in the College of Nursing, 112 in the College of Pharmacy, 67 in the Fay W. Boozman College of Public Health, 257 in the College of Health Professions, and 58 in the Graduate School.

The Blue & You Foundation for a Healthier Arkansas has awarded Mercy Health Foundation $147,860 to support Mercy Hospital’s upgrade of patient rooms to help protect patients, co-workers, and the community from the spread of coronavirus.
The upgrades involved converting 29 existing patient rooms into “negative pressure” rooms with specialized air handling systems that help to remove airborne pathogens. Mercy Hospital had 19 negative pressure rooms prior to the additional upgrades.
