 A therapy that’s showing promising results in a recent study is being offered to blood cancer patients in Little Rock.

University of Arkansas System President Jay B. Silveria announced that C. Lowry Barnes, MD, professor and chair of the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS), has been named interim chancellor of the university and will begin his role July 11.

Baptist Health has partnered with the Arkansas Department of Human Services (DHS), Division of Medical Services, to implement the state's third and fourth Maternal Life360 HOME programs (Little Rock and North Little Rock). Currently serving Pulaski, Saline, and Faulkner counties, the program plans to expand to other counties served by Baptist Health.

CHI St. Vincent announced that its parent company, CommonSpirit Health, has named Bob Sarkar as market vice president of population health and physician alignment on an interim basisective June 30. 

In this role, Sarkar will oversee CommonSpirit’s Clinically Integrated Network (CIN) across its Tennessee/Georgia, Kentucky, Arkansas, and Ohio markets.

Geriatric psychiatrist Jessica Stovall, MD, recently joined Baptist Health Behavioral Health Clinic-North Little Rock. 

Stovall earned a degree and completed a residency at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS), where she also completed a geriatric psychiatry fellowship. She is certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology in Psychiatry and Geriatric Psychiatry.
