The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) is hosting a Job Fair from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. March 28 in the I. Dodd Wilson Building on the Little Rock campus.

The Job Fair offers job seekers the opportunity to meet with representatives from several UAMS departments and learn about a variety of positions that are currently available in campus operations and other nonclinical areas. The event will focus on early career positions such as entry-level call center operators, front desk staff, administrative assistants, dispatchers, supply technicians, and more.

The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) Institute for Community Health Innovation is offering a limited number of scholarships to maternal health care workers seeking to become certified in perinatal mental health. 

The scholarships are open to qualified applicants with two years of experience working with moms or babies in a health- or community-related setting. Eligible candidates include mental health therapists, doulas, nurses, community health workers, physicians, lactation consultants, or other healthcare service workers.

Khan received a Doctor of Medicine from the Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center in New Orleans, where she also completed a residency in general surgery. She completed a cardiac research fellowship at Weill Cornell in New York City, a cardiothoracic surgery fellowship at Emory University in Atlanta, and a heart transplant failure surgery fellowship at Texas Heart/Baylor in Houston.
