The Baptist Health-University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences Medical Education Program on June 17 celebrated its first graduating class of residents on the campus of Baptist Health Medical Center-North Little Rock.
Speaking at the celebration were Troy Wells, president and CEO of Baptist Health; Cam Patterson, MD, chancellor of the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS); and graduates of the program.
Logan Meurer, a third-year medical student at New York Institute of Technology College of Osteopathic Medicine at Arkansas State University (NYITCOM at A-State), has been honored with a Distinguished Medical Student Award from the College of American Pathologists (CAP).
Arkansas Children’s made record advancements on U.S. News & World Report’s Best Children’s Hospitals list, celebrating the most service lines in which the state’s only pediatric health system has ever ranked. Seven Arkansas Children’s specialty services are among the best in the nation, according to the list.
In addition, Arkansas Children’s continues to be among the most decorated health systems in the state, ranked in the most specialty services across all U.S. News & World Report’s annual surveys.

Associates in stores and clubs across the country have rallied behind the CMN Hospitals campaign, raising more than $1 billion over the lifetime of the partnership for children’s hospitals across North America, with more than $43 million going to help Arkansas Children’s since 1987.
