The UAMS Institute for Digital Health and Innovation’s Brain Injury Program will host a virtual workshop on Nov. 20 to connect anyone affected by a traumatic brain injury (TBI) to resources and support.

Baptist Health Breast Centers and Baptist Health Foundation announced a partnership with the National Breast Cancer Foundation to provide free mammograms and additional breast imaging services for uninsured or low-income women, including Medicaid and Medicare recipients.

This initiative aims to combat the alarming statistic that one in eight women will face a breast cancer diagnosis, emphasizing that early detection through preventive screenings like mammograms significantly increases treatment effectiveness.

The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) awarded 14 grants totaling $273,072 at the annual Chancellor’s Circle Grant Awards ceremony held Nov. 3 at the William J. Clinton Presidential Library & Museum.

More than 250 household and corporate members make up the Chancellor’s Circle.

Baptist Health Rehabilitation Institute-Conway recently welcomed internal medicine physician Mina Michael, MD.

Michael earned an M.B.B.CH in Medicine and Surgery from Cairo University in Egypt. He completed residency training at St. Agnes Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland.

Michael previously served as medical director of inpatient rehabilitation at Saint Mary's Regional Medical Center in Russellville.
