The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) will host an Oct. 31 information session for those who are interested in academic or career opportunities at UAMS.

The Future in Focus information session will be held from 2-4 p.m. in the Active Learning Center on the first floor of the UAMS Library in the Education II Building, located on Campus Drive on the Little Rock campus.

Arkansas Heart Hospital has announced the promotion of Jacob Robinson to president, marking a key leadership transition for the organization. Robinson previously served in multiple executive roles at the hospital, including chief administrative officer and chief operating officer, helping to guide operations and growth across the system.

Robinson succeeds Drew Jackson, who previously served as president and chief executive officer.

Arkansas Heart Hospital operates locations in Little Rock and Saline County, with clinics across Arkansas and Texas.

Baptist Health Rehabilitation Institute-Little Rock (BHRI) recently celebrated its 50th anniversary. BHRI operates 15 outpatient therapy centers across central Arkansas.

BHRI is certified by the Commission on the Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities for stroke, brain injury, spinal cord injury, and amputation rehabilitation. It provides support to individuals rebuilding their lives after life-altering events.

For five consecutive years, Newsweek and Statista have recognized BHRI as the best rehabilitation hospital in Arkansas.

Family medicine physician German Corrales, MD, has joined the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) and will see patients at the UAMS Health Neighborhood Clinic on Capital Mall in Little Rock.

He will also serve as an assistant professor in the UAMS College of Medicine Department of Family and Preventive Medicine.

The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) Winthrop P. Rockefeller Cancer Institute will offer lung cancer screenings on Nov. 8 from 8 a.m.-noon.

Low-dose CT screenings, a special type of X-ray of the lungs, will be given on the third floor of the Cancer Institute located at 449 Jack Stephens Drive in Little Rock. Free parking will be available in UAMS Parking Deck 3, 4030 W. Capitol Ave., next to the Cancer Institute.
