ADH Participates in National Lead Poison...

To raise awareness of childhood lead poisoning prevention, the Arkansas Department of Health (ADH), the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), and the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) are participating in National Lead Poisoning Prevention Week NLPPW from Oct. 19-25.

The ADH will be participating in multiple activities in Arkansas. To learn more about lead exposure, visit ADH’s Lead-Based Paint program at the following events in support of NLPPW:

UAMS Presents Barber Connect Showcase o...

Barbers from throughout Arkansas will convene at Little Rock’s Mosaic Templars Cultural Center on Oct. 27 for the inaugural Barber Connect Showcase Day.      

The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) Barbershop Talk research team is presenting the showcase. Barbershop Talk is a study that encourages men to avoid heavy alcohol consumption as a way to improve health.

Charity Clay Shooting Tournament to Bene...

The 14th annual Arkansas Charity Clays tournament, presented by CompleteCare, is set for Oct. 24 at the Arkansas Game & Fish Foundation Shooting Sports Complex, 2800 Graham Road, in Jacksonville. Proceeds raised from this year’s event will support Baptist Health College Little Rock. All proceeds will go toward facility expansion and improvements to increase student enrollment and enrich learning in all programs. 

Chad Golden with Trane Commercial and Alan Hope with Powers of Arkansas are this year’s event co-chairs.
