Dr. Billy Reid McBay, a family practice doctor, has joined Conway Medical Group, a Conway Regional primary care clinic.
McBay has more than 29 years of experience as a family medicine specialist. He is currently in practice alongside Drs. Laura Massey and Jarrett Lea.
The Schmieding Home Caregiver Training Program of the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) in cooperation with North Metro Family Medical Center will hold a free family caregiver workshop Feb. 21 for those who would like to learn about caring for an adult with dementia or Alzheimer’s disease.
Ambassadors from the White Hall Chamber of Commerce and community supporters welcomed the new Arkansas Surgical Hospital Orthopedic Clinic with an official ribbon cutting on Feb. 7.
The clinic, located at 7250 Sheridan Road, is led by orthopedic surgeon Brent M. Lawrence, MD, and is one of three Arkansas Surgical Hospital affiliates. The other affiliations include ASH Urgent Care in North Little Rock and a new orthopedic clinic in Conway.
New York Institute of Technology College of Osteopathic Medicine at Arkansas State University (NYITCOM at A-State) is now accepting applications for its annual summer program, “Project H.E.A.R.T.” (Health Education Advocacy Reflection and Training), which will be held on the A-State campus from June 11-14.
Project H.E.A.R.T. is a four-day/three-night residential camp intended to further NYITCOM at A-State’s mission to develop Arkansans for service in the Delta Region. There is no cost to the student.
The 15th Annual Midsouth Summit Black Expo, presented by the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS), will celebrate Black History Month by bringing together the community for a day of health education, business empowerment, entertainment and shopping.
The expo is scheduled Feb. 23 from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. at the Metroplex Event Center, 10800 Colonel Glenn Road. Admission is free.
