The public is invited to join Baptist Health Foundation for “A Baptist Health Christmas,” a concert featuring national recording artist Ben Rector with performances by Chrissy P. and the Saint Mark Sanctuary Choir. 

Presented by Compass One Healthcare, “A Baptist Health Christmas” will be held Dec. 2 at The Venue at Westwind, 7318 Windsong Drive in North Little Rock. The event is hosted by Miss Arkansas Cori Keller.

Baptist Health Medical Center-North Little Rock recently opened a new unit that increases access to behavioral healthcare.

“This new unit is yet another significant investment by Baptist Health to improve access to behavioral health services,” said Cody Walker, president of Baptist Health Medical Center-North Little Rock. “Within the last year, Baptist Health has opened a new outpatient behavioral health clinic, a memory care clinic, as well as a psychiatry residency training program all right here in North Little Rock.”

A $500,000 grant from the federal Bureau of Justice Assistance will be used to create crisis response teams of Little Rock police officers and social workers that will be overseen by University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) medical staff.

The Arkansas Department of Health (ADH) Office of Oral Health is partnering with the Arkansas Foodbank Network to provide more than 5,000 oral health kits to Arkansans in need. The oral health kits, which include toothbrushes, toothpaste, and floss, will be available to the Foodbank’s member organizations beginning this fall.

“Oral health and proper nutrition are closely linked,” said Rachel Sizemore, MD, ADH director of the Office of Oral Health. “At the ADH Office of Oral Health, our priority is to help Arkansans take care of the teeth needed to digest healthy foods.”

The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) is hosting the 28th Annual Diabetes Update Symposium Nov. 17-18 for healthcare professionals who work with patients to prevent, diagnose, and treat diabetes.

The symposium is a unique, interactive, interprofessional event that can be attended in person this year for the first time since 2019. It may also be attended virtually.
