Baptist Health is now offering Invenia ABUS 2.0 (Automated Breast Ultrasound System), approved by the FDA for breast cancer screening, to be used in addition to mammography for women with dense breast tissue and an average lifetime risk of breast cancer.
Harrison Dean, who has served Baptist Health for 37 years, and is currently Western Region president, has announced his plans to retire later this year.
According to the Arkansas Department, the following statistics were reported in tracking COVID-19 within the state:
-Confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Arkansas, 22
-Persons Under Investigation (PUI), 14
-People being monitored by ADH with daily check-in and guidance because of an identified risk, 258
-Past PUIs with negative test results, 132
In the wake of the coronavirus COVID-19 pandemic, hospitals throughout Arkansas have released information regarding increased visitor guidelines, parameters for screening, and precautions to take in avoiding getting the coronavirus.
CARTI’s elevated precautions include:
-Drive-thru pre-screening locations for patients and caregivers to utilize.
-Patients should arrive 40 minutes before their appointment to account for additional time needed to go through the pre-screen process and fill out paperwork.
An individual in Pine Bluff is Arkansas’ first presumptive case of coronavirus, Gov. Asa Hutchinson announced during a news conference this morning.
The patient has an out-of-state travel history, according to the governor. The individual is being treated at Jefferson Regional Medical Center.
A test, performed by the state Health Department, will be sent to the CDC for confirmation. "There’s not any general risk to the public,” Hutchinson said. “But the Department of Health team will be taking the proper precautions there as the patient is in isolation.”
