Baptist Health Community Outreach is launching a free Healthy & Active Youth and Families (HAYF) program in Conway, aimed at promoting wellness for youth ages five to 17 and their families.

This interactive program focuses on increasing physical activity levels, improving nutrition, and enhancing emotional and social wellbeing.

The upcoming session will run from March 28 to May 16. Participants will meet in-person every other Saturday from 10-11:30 a.m. at Baptist Health Medical Center-Conway, 1555 Exchange Ave.

Arkansas Children’s is continuing the momentum behind its $371 million expansion project with a $1.5 million gift from Katie and Miles Stephens.

The Stephens family have been long-time supporters of Arkansas Children’s. Katie Stephens is a lifetime member of the Arkansas Children’s Hospital Auxiliary and has been a member of the Arkansas Children’s Foundation board since 2024.

Baptist Health Family Clinic-Rose City recently added Jennifer Halliburton, APRN, to the clinic’s team of providers caring for patients in North Little Rock’s Rose City neighborhood.

Halliburton earned a Master of Science in Nursing - Family Nurse Practitioner degree from the University of Central Arkansas, where she also received a Bachelor of Science in Nursing.

A new study involving University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) research scientists offers hope for patients who are seeking to reduce their dependence on benzodiazepines, powerful drugs prescribed to relieve anxiety and insomnia and reduce seizures.

More than 30 million American adults are currently taking benzodiazepines. However, long-term use of these drugs carries significant risks, including drowsiness, confusion, memory impairment and slowed reaction time. When combined with alcohol or opioids, benzodiazepines can cause severe disorientation, coma and even death.

Baptist Health Orthopedic Clinic-Little Rock recently welcomed Christopher Lang, MD, a board-certified orthopedic surgeon.

Lang specializes in sports medicine, including arthroscopic surgery for the knee and shoulder. He is also skilled in orthopedic trauma.
